SILK GARMENT CARE

Thank you for buying me. I’m a limited edition fabric and garment design from Spinel by Jo Mc Designs.

I would love to be by your side for many years, if not your lifetime and may be even a generational heirloom garment.

So, here’s some helpful tips to keep me strong and beautiful.

I am silk chiffon, one of the finest silk fabrics and consideration needs to be given to my surroundings and situations.

By my very nature as silk, I am one of the strongest natural threads, but when cut and constructed into a garment, some areas of me will be put under more pressure through body weight and movement, especially at the seams.

So, when wearing me as a dress, robe, kaftan or coat please consider that I could be caught by a shoe heel or rough surface as I float past. Try to remember to hitch up my hems when going up or down a flight of stairs, getting into or alighting from a vehicle and bunching me around your hips and waist when sitting. I don’t take kindly to being stretched tightly.

I love to float in the breeze, so again be mindful of your proximity to sharp or rough surroundings such rendered walls, stone masonry, rose bushes, brick walls or sharp table/chair edges.

If by chance something spills on me, gently sponge the mark with a soft damp cloth. I LOVE gentle hand washes (just like a baby) with delicate detergent and lukewarm water.

To remove creases, I like the iron set on silk and steam. Yummmm.

Please do not wash me in the machine as I’m prone to motion sickness. No need to dry clean me either.

Thank you for caring and loving me.

I just know we will have the best of times together!
